Scrapbook. This is actually nearly 3 weeks old. Yeah! Anyway, It's been kicking about, so, as i said, i want to stop drawing fanart stuff. And ok, yeah, i did actually do this pic as a study, not because i'm a fan (i havent even seen the film, it looks poop, and i dont like Vin Diesel), but simply cos ... it was a great pose/poster! But all the same, I was intending to finish this, but if i'm going to start this new "all original" movement as of today, then i should put it behind me. Not to say i wont do studies n stuff at home, i just wont upload it. I'm sick of EVERY day the fanart gallery being the featured gallery. There always a fanart pic every day, almost 100% guaranteed in the top two spots of "faves of the day". And, most of the time its Naruto, or some bloody anime. I dont mind fanart when people try something new and use their style on it (in fact, i love it) but wayyyyyyyyy too many times do i see people just doing it by the book, just a straight style copy. And it really is beginning to tire on me.
So, i should put my money where my mouth is, and do something about it. I cant sit here and complain about the amount of unoriginal 10 to the dozen fanart pics, when i'm doing fanart myself
But that has nothing to do with this. Uhm, yup, going straight to scraps So i guess this is the last fanart submition onto dA for at least a year! Maybe i might put something into scraps, but i doubt it. Bumwhackasha
I KNEW youd end up drawing this, from the moment i first saw the poster however many weeks ago. i should have jumped in and done it first before you got the chance to really . that is some swank lighting.
Right.... I'm a bit confused! The title and description would lead me to believe that the subject picture would be somehting to do with Riddick (from "Pitch Black" and "Chronicles of..."). But unless I'm very much mistaken, the image (and a beautiful one it is at that) is of our troubled hero Cloud Strife from FF7!!
erm..... sorry if I've missed the boat on this one
btw the pic is fab... can't wait to see it finished!!
oops sorry, my bad!! My comp decided to accompany this description with your cloud pic instead... confued me and hence the stupid ramblings!! Sorry... both pics are lovely!!
I know what you mean. But I have to say that i am guilty of the same thing. I taught myself to draw resently by doing sketch copies of screenshots from some of my fav. video games. It's worked out pretty well, I'm starting to understand the way that lighting and shadows, as well as tricks to draw faces, hands, ect. Anyway, I have lots of those posted because they turned out well. I guess that my point is that the direct copies can be there for different reasons. Good luck on the original artwork!

He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which.
